8vo. xiv + 501 + (1)pp, 300 woodcut text ills, 32pp publisher’s adverts. Publisher’s blind-stamped cloth, slightly bumped at head and foot of spine and corners. Jill Allibone’s copy, with her bookplate (loosely inserted).

Tenth edition, with two lengthy added chapters on the internal arrangement of churches not found in the ninth edition of 1849. Bloxam notes in his preface that although previous editions had been printed for him by Thomas Combe, successively at Leicester and at the Oxford University Press, the present edition “has been printed at Rugby, by Mr.Billington, bookseller to Rugby School”.
