These two handsomely produced volumes follow on from Bond’s solid volume of 1905 on Gothic Architecture, and take further his technical analysis of the methods of design and construction in the Middle Ages. They remain useful as evidence for the state of knowledge about English mediaeval architecture in the early years of the twentieth century.
