A good copy of the auction sale catalogue of a remarkable collection of paintings, maiolica, antiquities, drawings, engravings and printed books assembled by Baron Hans Albrecht von Derschau (died 1824). Derschau had formed an especially good collection of engravings by Dürer and other German masters of the early Renaissance period, and was an acknowledged authority on early German woodblock printing, while he also owned some interesting related paintings and antiquities, a large collection of Dutch and Italian engravings of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and an extensive and well-chosen library. The catalogue itself was compiled with unusual care, apparently from Derschau's own notes, and provides a mass of useful information on objects of all kinds. This particular copy carries on its front cover the name in ink of Heinrich Füssli & Co, in 1825 the leading firm of art dealers in Zürich, Switzerland, who are listed on a preliminary page as one of the catalogue's official distributors. For Derschau see Lugt, Marques de Collections 2510.
