A very handsome catalogue of the collection of Greek vases in the Ashmolean Museum, compiled by Professor Gardner with an introductory essay on the vases from Gela in Sicily by the future Sir Arthur Evans. Both the cataloguing and the production of the volumes are excellent for their date, and the undertaking as a whole reflects Evans’s energetic period of office as Keeper of the Ashmolean.
