This small Oxfordshire parish church was considered by the Oxford Architectural Society as “a convenient model for a small church or chapel in the Decorated style”, and an accompanying surveyor’s estimate indicates that it could be built for £364 at 1844 prices. The drawings of the church are by the very experienced architectural draughtsman J.C. Buckler. Some copies have added flaps on the plates, showing design alternatives, but these are not always present and are absent from this particular copy.
