No.5 of a limited edition of 200 copies printed on handmade paper, 100 of which were numbered and for sale, as here.
A handsome illustrated catalogue of a selection of the Old Master paintings and engravings in Ralph Brocklebank’s collection at Haughton Hall, Tarporley, Cheshire, with descriptive and biographical notes. Among the paintings, all acquired by Brocklebank or other members of his family since the early 1880s, were works by, or attributed to, Filippino Lippi, Lucas van Leyden, Holbein, Opie, Turner and others. A few items kept at Brocklebank’s town house in Liverpool are listed separately at the end of the volume.
