One of the most assured of the impressive series of regional plans prepared during the inter-war period by the future Sir Patrick Abercrombie and his office partner Sydney Kelly. They offer proposals for the future industrial development of the areas around Ipswich and Lowestoft, and for the improvement of the local road system, as well as making suggestions for specific improvements to some of the smaller towns in the county (Aldeburgh gets a good deal of attention, but they did not foresee its future as a place of cultural pilgrimage).
