These monographs on the church of S. Ivo alla Sapienza and the Oratory in Rome, two of the most celebrated of the works of the architect Francesco Borromini, were based on engravings, drawings and manuscript material assembled by Borromini himself in the 1660s, and have always been sought after by architectural scholars and book collectors. This reprint is itself now rare.
