4to. 13 + (1)pp. Original wrappers. A good, fresh copy. Descriptions of two additional exhibits (paintings by Sir William Beechey) added in ink in a contemporary hand at the foot of p.13.
The catalogue of a loan exhibition of 227 Old Master and more recent paintings held in Exeter at 1822. Artists and current owners are identified throughout. Lenders of paintings included Lord Clifford of Chudleigh (Snyders, Guido), Col.Macdonald (Van Loo, Claude Lorraine, Lely), Sir L.V.Palk (Claude Lorraine, Cuyp, Reynolds) and the Exeter attorney William Kendall (Watteau, Mytens, Wouvermans and (optimistically ?) Leonardo da Vinci). Not in British Library and evidently a rarity.
