Facsimile reprint, now not easy to find, of the official biography of Sir Charles Barry (1795-1860), architect of the Houses of Parliament, the Travellers’ Club and many other major buildings of the period. It is the major narrative source for Barry’s architectural career and was written by his son Alfred, a Church of England clergyman and a doughty defender of his father’s posthumous reputation.
