Amusing biography of E.B. Denison, later Sir Edmund Beckett, Bart., and later still Lord Grimthorpe, a wealthy barrister and landowner who believed himself to be England's foremost authority on church architecture and horology, and who terrorised the cathedral authorities at St. Alban's into allowing him to rebuild to his own design major portions of that cathedral church's mediaeval structure.
