A substantial compilation, put together by John Gorton, previously editor of the General Biographical Dictionary, with some assistance from Rev.George Newenham Wright. An appendix at the end of the third volume provides an “analysis of the Reform and Boundary bills” just passed by Parliament. The present set comprises the text volumes only, without the “fifty-four quarto maps, drawn and engraved by Sidney Hall” called for on the title leaves.
