The volume of Caumont’s Abécédaire series devoted to the architecture and archaeology of Roman Gaul, here in its second edition. About half the book is devoted to buildings, the rest mostly to funerary monuments and pottery, but the text is based throughout on discoveries made by Caumont and his friends and contemporaries, and helps to understand the contribution made by Caumont to antiquarian studies.
