Full Description

Folio. 12pp. Sewn and folded as issued. Centre of last page soiled where folded, otherwise in good, fresh condition. A few ink calculations of the value of endowments in blank outer margins.

It was decided in 1758 that the Commission for Building Fifty New Churches, effectively dormant since the early 1730s, should be wound up, and this is the Act which enabled the remaining sites to be sold and the Commission’s endowments to be distributed. It seems likely that this is an example of the Act’s earliest printing, without the added printed title leaf which normally accompanies Acts intended to be bound up with other Acts of the same year.
