The text of a lecture by A.W. King, secretary of Blackburn Technical Institute from 1890 to 1904 and friend and tutor to Aubrey Beardsley, delivered to the Institute sometime after Beardsley’s death. The text of the lecture and some previously unpublished letters and drawings by Beardsley were discovered after King’s death in 1922 and subsequently arranged for publication here by the art scholar and Beardsley expert Rainforth Armitage Walker, who has signed this copy.
