A good historical study of the church and parish of All Hallows, Barking, the parish occupying fifteen acres close to the Tower of London. Maskell was then the church’s curate and his book was published for subscribers, a list of whom (on the last leaf of the volume) accounts for the sale of only fifty-six copies ; hence, no doubt, the anxiety of the publishers to be paid, evidenced by an added printed slip.
