A substantial book, widely read by contemporary architects, providing descriptions, costs, views and plans of recent European house designs, including the work of Emanuel von Seidl, Voysey, Max Littmann, Muthesius, Van der Velde, Peter Behrens, Ernest Newton, and Heinrich Tscharmann himself. It provides attractive mounted colour illustrations of a selection of the designs involved, mostly by German architects but including a design for a house at Bournville by the British architect W.Alexander Harvey. In the present set the first volume appears to be in its first printing, while the second is “drittes tausend”.
