A monograph on the work up to the mid 1920s of the German architect Otto Bartning (1883-1959), an early friend of Gropius and a member of the architectural group known as Der Ring. Bartning’s own most striking executed designs were for Protestant churches in the Rhineland and North Germany, notably the Gustav-Adolph Kirche at Charlottenburg, featured here. Jaeger 0288.
