A volume in this publisher’s Die Blauen Bücher series, providing photo illustrations of most of the high spots of German and Austrian baroque architecture, by architects ranging from Andreas Schlüter to Johann Konrad Schlaun. The introductory text was provided by the German art historian Wilhelm Pinder (1878-1947), whose pupils were to include Nikolaus Pevsner and Wolfgang Hermann, but who was subsequently to be discredited by his support for the National Socialist regime.
