4to. Colour frontis., (4)ff, 19 plates reproducing drawings by Poynter. Pub cloth.
A privately published volume which reproduces a selection of drawings and watercolours by the architect Ambrose Poynter (1796-1886), mostly done while on an architectural tour of France in the 1830s. As an architect Poynter was an able practitioner in Tudor and Gothic Revival styles, and his watercolours reflect the fact that he had been a pupil of Thomas Shotter Boys.
