Offprint of an account of the impressive Roman amphitheatre discovered at Mérida in (Roman Augusta Emerita, capital of the ancient province of Lusitania) by the director of the excavations which had begun in the town in 1910. Mélida gives a short history of the site, an architectural description of the theatre (built c.8 BC), and details of the inscriptions and statuary uncovered at the site, accompanied by a plan and photographic illustrations.
