Ambitious proposals for rebuilding the city of Exeter, much of which had been devastated by bombing in May 1942. Thomas Sharp, the volume’s author, produced similar plans for the reconstruction of other English cities, and wrote extensively on town planning issues. The present book is also an excellent example of immediate post-war book design.
