Full Description

4to. (38)pp, incl 30pp of photo ills. Publisher’s wrappers, printed in red and black. A good copy.

First and only edition. This combines an evocative photographic record of Wright’s finest buildings from the period 1899-1923, with a short but stimulating introductory text in French by the then youthful Hitchcock. It evidences the fact that Wright’s reputation remained high in Europe in the late 1920s, whatever view was taken of him at the time by his fellow countrymen (see also the issue devoted him in the periodical L’Architecture Vivante also offered here). Sweeney 201.
