Scarce book by Ferdinand Feldegg (1855-1936), architect and Professor of Architecture at the Staatsgewerbeschule in Vienna. As founder-editor of the influential Viennese periodical Der Architekt between 1895 and 1908 Feldegg was to have a major impact on turn-of-the century architecture in German-speaking countries, but throughout his career he was to maintain a wide interest in the philosophical and psychological factors involved in the process of design, and in the present book he discusses the role played by form and structure in the design and manufacture of furniture, glass and ceramics.
