(Issue of the periodical Wendingen devoted to the Van Nelle tobacco factory in Rotterdam).
Amsterdam, 1930 (Wendingen vol.11, issue 2).
Large 4to. 30pp (of which pp 25-30 are adverts), many photo ills. Original pictorial wrappers (designed by L.C.Van der Vlugt), a little defective at spine and outer corners, tied with raffia at spine as issued. Brian Housden’s copy.
A good illustrated record of the Van Nelle tobacco factory at Rotterdam, built in 1926-30 to designs by the architectural partnership of J.A.Brinkman and L.C.Van der Vlugt, although the actual designs appear to have been made by Van der Vlugt, the architectural genius of the partnership. The factory building, in the international modern style, is regarded as Van der Vlugt’s outstanding achievement.
