Ivan Mestrovic. A monograph.
London, Williams and Norgate 1919.
4to. 94 + (2)pp, 68 plates. Publisher’s cloth, spine faded and some marks on covers (but a good copy otherwise). No ownership inscription, but Roderick Gradidge’s copy.
The earliest substantial English-language publication on the Dalmatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic, reflecting contemporary enthusiasm for the exhibitions of his work held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1915 and at the Grafton Gallery in 1917. It includes a list of the 279 sculptures executed by him between 1901 and 1918 (checked for accuracy by Mestrovic himself).
