L’architecture religieuse russe du XIe siècle au XVIIe siècle.
Paris, Librairie Ernest Leroux 1929.
Large folio. 114+(2)pp, 144 photo plates. Publisher’s printed double wrappers, front wrapper lightly spotted. Lower corner bumped, slightly affecting blank margins of text and plates. Ink ownership inscription on blank prelim, later printed booklabel.
The main value of this volume lies in the numerous excellent photographic plates of churches and other religious buildings from across Russia, but Loukomski’s authoritative text, discussing the development of regional styles and sources for Russian architecture history, is also still valuable.
