This influential text by Le Corbusier was originally written as a series of articles for the periodical L’Esprit Nouveau during 1924, and was reissued in book form in 1925 during the Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs at which Corbusier exhibited his Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau. It shows the wide range of styles (from folk art to machine design) interesting Corbusier at this time. The present edition is a facsimile reprint of the book of 1925, with a helpful new preface by Le Corbusier himself explaining the circumstances of the original publication.
