Full Description
Folio. Publisher’s cloth, worn at extremities, upper corners bumped, affecting corners of text. Inner hinge cracked and binding becoming a little loose. Ink ownership inscription dated 1944. A couple of old damp spots on first few leaves with several small areas of adhesion, and discolouration at edges throughout due to the quality of the paper, but the photo plates largely unaffected.
A scarce monograph on the early eighteenth century Italian architect and stage designer, with excellent photographic illustrations of his architectural works and sketches. Telluccini discusses the political and social climate of the time in Italy and particularly Juvarra’s hometown of Turin as well as Juvarra’s training and early career, his work in Piedmont, and his contemporaries and acquaintances.
