arge 8vo. x + 36 + (2)pp, engraved portrait frontispiece, 31 folding engraved plates (three repaired at fold, without loss). Contemporary quarter calf, marbled boards, chipped at head of spine. Some light internal spotting.
A nineteenth century edition of Vignola, intended for the use of student architects. An introductory note by the publishers explains that this is the second edition of a version of Vignola first published in 1838, for which the plates had been carefully re-engraved by Prof.Constantino Gianni from Novara. They also acknowledge assistance from an unnamed but apparently distinguished Milanese engineer.
