A study of Thurneysser (1531-96), the Basel-born medical practitioner, alchemist, printer and patron of the arts. It also publishes all the surviving graphic work of Christoph Murer, the late sixteenth century Zürich artist who commemorated highlights of Thurneysser’s career in two splendid surviving stained glass windows.
