Ink ownership inscription of Edward William Armstrong FRIBA (New Zealand-born architect) on upper cover of portfolio and on mounted colour title leaf, and his ink initials on bottom right-hand blank outer corner of each signature of text. In good, clean condition internally.
French-language version of the first instalment of a proposed book on polychrome ornament, with mounted colour plates, by the German architect Alexander Speltz, previously the author in 1904 of a best-selling book on ornament generally. Further volumes devoted to polychrome ornament in the middle ages and in modern times were to follow.
