Interesting biography of the distinguished British structural engineer Oscar Faber (1886-1956), written by his son. Oscar Faber. The remit of Faber’s business extended beyond structural engineering as such into the design of heating and ventilation systems, and Faber and his colleagues worked in the inter-war period on such disparate projects as Sir Herbert Baker’s new Bank of England, the stands at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the Shanghai Custom House and the underpinning of Durham Castle.
