Essays on the application of rational principles of planning to the design of houses and housing developments. Contributors include Gropius, Neutra, Ernst May, Fritz Schumacher and other leading architects of the period, and the volume was influential in demonstrating the practical considerations that led to the adoption of modern movement architectural styles. The present copy is bound in its original wrappers, rather than in the publisher’s cloth binding more normally found, and the book is described on the wrappers as being “Band I. Wohnbau”, although no second volume was ever published. Jaeger 0499.
