A scarce little book which provides a guide to the spiritual aspects as well as to the artistic features of Bristol Cathedral. Its author, a frequent visitor to the cathedral, is identified on the volume’s title leaf by the initials L.W.G. only, but is stated in the British Library catalogue to have been L.W.Gully. The author takes the opportunity to comment on various aspects of Christian life, including the defence of the Protestant faith, and ‘the brutal sports of coursing and fox-hunting’. Not found in NUC.
