Recollections of Thomas Graham Jackson Bart., R.A. … arranged and edited by Basil H. Jackson.
London, Oxford University Press 1950.
8vo. xiv + 284pp, 24 photo plates, 5 text ills. Publisher’s cloth.
The previously unpublished autobiography of Sir T.G. Jackson (1835-1924), best remembered as the architect of the Examination Schools and other late 19th century university and college buildings in Oxford. Although Jackson started as a pupil in the office of Sir G.G. Scott, he was to build up a distinctive personal practice relying on family and Oxford contacts, and his narrative of his career and achievements is interesting throughout.
