Oblong folio. 4 litho plates, each measuring 195 x 280mm (including borders). Each plate has a separate printed caption pasted within its double ruled border. Orig printed wrappers, sewn as issued.

A rare suite of lithographic views of Scarborough, not recorded in Abbey. The plates portray, respectively : “Scarborough from the Bridlington Road”, “Scarborough from the Plantation” ; “Scarborough from the North Sands” ; and “Scarborough Castle from the Pier”. Although Stubbs was only a local artist, his drawings are of an acceptable artistic quality, and the plates themselves are a professional production by the London lithographic printer R.Martin, 161 High Holborn. Not in the British Library Catalogue and no copy listed in NUC.
