Full Description

Small folio. 148pp, mostly photo ills and plans. Publisher’s cloth. Presentation copy to Eric Jarrett, member of Architectural Association teaching staff, with ink presentation inscription signed by Eskil Sundahl and Eric Rockstrom. Subsequently Brian Housden’s copy. In good condition.

A good copy of this handsome illustrated monograph on the work of the architects’ office of the Swedish Cooperative Wholesale Society between 1925 and 1935. During this period it erected or refitted some 2000 shop, factory and apartment buildings throughout Sweden, and its chief architect, Eskil Sundahl, was a major force in the development of modernist Swedish architecture in the 1930s. The text is in English. This particular copy is a presentation copy, signed by Sundahl and a Swedish colleague, and we do not ourselves recall having seen a presentation copy of this title before.
