The only edition of this well-illustrated study of contemporary theatre and cinema architecture, especially appreciative of theatre buildings by the German architect Oskar Kaufmann (to whom the book is dedicated), but also sympathetic to theatres in more overly modernist styles by such architects as Poelzig, Gropius and Mendelsohn.
