Publisher’s printed cloth, several minor marks, faint imprint of library stamp on front pastedown endpaper, upper part of half-title page detached, otherwise internally clean and fresh. Roderick Gradidge’s copy (bookplate, with some glue residue to half-title).

An anthology of “piquant morsels of prose” on the subject of the inn, including writings by John Bunyan, Charles Dickens, Henry Fielding, George Eliot and others.
