A massive bibliographical survey, less accomplished than the subsequent five-volume British Architectural Library Catalogue, but including entries for various dictionaries, encyclopaedias and drawing books falling outside the BAL Catalogue’s scope, and remaining useful for providing bibliographical descriptions of a few excessively rare eighteenth and early nineteenth century architectural books not held in the British Architectural Library.
