4to. xv + (3) + 91 + (1)pp, 87 plates (some photo, others measured drawings). Publisher’s printed wrappers (spine browned, wrappers defective at outer margins where they extend beyond page edges). In good condition internally.
A good scholarly monograph on Chelsea Old Church, notable for its meticulous descriptions of the many fine monuments in the church and for the transcriptions of the inscriptions on them. This was to prove unexpectedly helpful when the church was gutted during the 1939-45 war and the monuments in it had to be pieced together from surviving fragments.
