An English-language account of the building of Stockholm Town Hall, written by its designer, the Swedish architect Ragnar Ostberg. The hall was to be his most famous commission, and probably his longest ; his first design was submitted in 1904, but it was not until 1911 that Stockholm officials decided to go ahead with his designs, and the building was not completed until 1923. Ostberg shows himself justifiably proud of his partly Italianate, partly Scandinavian but undeniably grand town hall building. The book includes illustrations of the interior and of its furnishings.
